“Mediation – the best method to solve conflicts”
Join us for the public lecture: Thursday, March 15th at 7 p.m. at Akademeia High School, ul. Ledóchowskiej 2, Warsaw.
Do you occasionally have conflicts with your close ones or in professional relations? Do you know situations in which others – instead of reconciling rationally – escalate disputes? Of course, you do! Mediation is a solution to these problems.
Mediation is one of the most effective methods to solve conflicts between people and organizations. The speaker will explain the notion of mediation from historical perspective, he will show how mediation is used in different cultures, how it works in solving family and social conflicts, how it is used in economic or political disputes.
Mediation (Latin mediatio from mediare ‘be in the middle, mediate’ from medius ‘central; impartial’) – a dispute solving method, in which a third party helps the parties in mutual communication, identifying their interests, issues to be discussed and reaching a mutually acceptable agreement. The process is voluntary, confidential and informal in character.
The lecture will be in Polish.
