3D Printing & Robotics Short Summer Course at Akademeia

3D Printing & Robotics Short Summer Course at Akademeia

This course took place on 09.07-13.07.2018 at our high school.

During the workshops, participants learned about 3D printing technology and its capabilities, worked with microcontrollers, learned how to program in C++ language, and how to use Arduino IDE libraries in order to control the robot.

Tutors showed them how to use 3D printing in robotics, and how to program a 3D printed robot by themselves!

Topics covered:

  • 3D printing technology,
  • the link between 3D printing and robotics,
  • programming in Arduino IDE,
  • basics of C++ language,
  • electronics,
  • basics of robotics.

We co-organized the course together with Skriware.

Skriware is a Polish 3D printing startup focusing on educational technology solutions.

The company has developed a fully integrated educational ecosystem consisting of robots, e-learning platform, intuitive and easy-to-use 3D printers, a virtual 3D playground, and an online 3D models library. The startup’s goal is to help students develop their interdisciplinary skills through the process of designing, building and programming 3D printable robots. With Skriware, students are able to fully explore the possibilities of 3D printing technology, develop STEAM related skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics), and satisfy their natural curiosities in science, engineering, and robotics.
