Every Wednesday we have so-called Artlab – workshops for all students interested in Art & Design.

Today we had a very special guest: Victor Yañez-Lazcano who is an artist, photographer, educator and blogger. Victor is a graduate from Columbia College Chicago (BA of Fine Arts), currently completing MFA of Art at Stanford University.

Todays workshop “Akademeia Inside Out – orchestrating the landscape of sounds” sought to actively engage students in close listening.  The students were asked to listen and identify sounds that are specific to both the inside and outside of the new building. Their task was to identify and recontextualize sounds specific to their surroundings.
