Last week, our students attended DamMUN university session in Amsterdam. It turns out that not only the debates themselves but also the city and its artistic aura impressed them greatly.
In our students’ words:
“Every building, statue, and street carry an impressive history, style, idea and aesthetics. Modern and old, traditional and innovative, Van Gogh and Dali, Rembrandt and Banksy, Stedelijk and Rijks – this city is a reconciliation of contrasts.“
“Amsterdam is a marvellous, vibrant city. Thanks to the people, culture, and atmosphere it was a wonderful trip. I consider the conferences very fruitful and am looking forward to the next cities the MUN Conference will take us to.”
“[…] There, we could find Rijks Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Modern Art Museum or, as we discovered later, a considerable exposition of Banksy and Salvador Dali. We all, more or less eagerly admitted that at least one of the mentioned above made an impact on how we viewed our trip, mostly in the way we define and treat art in the modern society.“
