Congratulations to two of our students: Jakub R (Year 9) and Tomasz K (Year 13) on being shortlisted as the 2021 Global Essay Competition Finalists. The John Locke Institute’s annual competition is internationally recognized as a way to build students’ knowledge and refine their argumentation and research skills.
All of essay prizes are judged by senior academics from the University of Oxford.
Jakub entered in the Junior category with an essay on the topic of: “What should we do to improve the lives of poor people?” Tomasz submitted his essay “Should we abolish the minimum wage?” in the Economics category.
This year over four thousand entries from 101 countries were entered. All finalists were awarded a commendation and received an invitation to come to Oxford for the academic conference and awards dinner where First, Second or Third Prizes in each category would be announced.
