Sonia Blank, Religious Studies and Humanities Teacher at Akademeia High School, joined a panel at a conference organised by the Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation and the Religious Studies department at the Jagielloński University in Kraków.
The discussion focused on Kasia Kozyra’s new project “Looking for Jesus” (link) – a documentary film exploring the Jerusalem Syndrome.
In the film, the artist searches for and portrays extraordinary individuals that are all characterized by an attempt to escape the established, institutionalised framework of faith. “Looking for Jesus” is not merely a film about the Jerusalem syndrome, but rather about the mechanisms of faith and the way of building one’s own view of reality.
The film certainly deviates from the typical formats to which cinema audiences are accustomed. It oscillates between a documentary, travel journal and an art piece.
