The list of our after school clubs is growing year on year, reflecting the diverse interests of our students and the expertise of our faculty. More and more clubs are being offered as student-initiated and student-run projects. From September 6-11, during the Trial Week, our students had a chance to try out from a variety of over 50 programmes!
This year, for students interested in practical aspects of Science we proposed Neurobiology in Action, Mysterious World of Particle Physics, Aviation Society, Introduction to Engineering and Astrophysics. Students could experience the Creative and Performing Arts through classes such as: Portraiture, Musical Theatre, School Band, Art Lab and Photography, among others. Our Sports list included Yoga, Capoeira, Tennis, Basketball, Fitness, Dance, Football, and even Splits for Beginners! Students could also choose to devote their time for a good cause with some school voluntary and fundraising activities including our new School Without Borders Project. Chess, Coding in C++, 3D Designing and Printing, CanSat Club, Competitive Debating, Introduction to Psychology, Reading Kafka, Poetry Club, Creative Writing Classes – and the list goes on!
The feedback from the Trial Week’s taster classes was extremely positive and now some of our students may have only one problem: how to narrow their options to a maximum of four choices per week?!
At Akademeia, we strive to develop our students’ academic potential as well as their personal growth and global outlook. Our rich co-curriculum programme ensures that they step outside their comfort zone by trying new things, broadening their perspectives and discovering new passions and interests.
