Our building received the main award in the category of Design – Interiors – Public Buildings. The statuette was presented to Przemo Łukasik and Łukasz Zagała – the founders of Medusa Group architectural studio and Karolina Kaim – the president of Tacit Investment.
“We are very grateful for this award. It makes us incredibly happy that with our joint efforts we were able to create a school – a place in which young people are influenced” – said Łukasz Zagała.
“On behalf of Tacit company I would like to thank you very much for this award. That design was – from the perspective of my experience – an absolute express, because a record short period of time elapsed from the moment of developing the concept until the time of construction. It is all the greatest satisfaction to receive this award, because in these beautiful interiors we are also shaping the inner side of young people, and we would like to promote beauty in such interiors” – added Karolina Kaim.
The justification reads as follows:
“In that category the award goes to Akademeia High School, one of the most architecturally inspiring schools on Poland’s educational map. The design of the private high school in Warsaw’s Wilanów was prepared by Medusa Group design studio. The interiors, apart from Medusa, were the responsibility of Studio Rygalik. The school is original in many aspects – it forms a new category in its class and is an example of harmonious combination of site requirements, technical conditions, architecture and special educational mission. It is another premium category project created by Tacit Investment.”
“4 Design Days is a great event in the world of architecture, design and on real property market. All day today we have been discussing trends in architecture, creating attractive public space, town planning, how to achieve competitive advantage with design. We presented many examples of wonderful projects. Now, a ceremony will be held, which, I hope, will be a good crowning of this day. On the initiative of Property Design editors, Property Design Awards 2018 will be presented” – said Wojciech Kuśpik, the president of PTWP, commencing the ceremony.
Nominations were prepared on the basis of readers’ votes of Propertynews.pl and Propertydesign.pl portals and recommendations of the jury in the following composition: Marcin Szczelina – Architecture Snob, chairman of the jury; Giovanna Carnevali, Strelka KB; Ivan Blasi, Mies van der Rohe Award; Robert Konieczny, KWK Promes; Agnieszka Kaczmarska, SARP Katowice; Małgorzata Burzec-Lewandowska, editor-in-chief of Propertydesign.pl; Robert Posytek, editor-in-chief of Propertynews.pl.
