This academic year was the first time in Akademeia High School’s history that students were entered into both competitions, with 30 of our top mathematicians taking part in BMO1 last November.

The British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1 (BMO1) gathers the most talented mathematicians in Year 12 and Year 13, with the questions testing students on their problem-solving skills and ability to think outside of the box. The top 1000 students from the United Kingdom Mathematical Trust Senior Challenge (UKMT) are automatically entered into BMO1.

The Mathematics Department is proud of all our students, and we congratulate Juliusz, Alex and Mark for achieving merit awards.
