A very warm welcome back to all our students today!
This is the third year of Akademeia High School’s operation in its award-winning building in Wilanów. We are very pleased to welcome so many new pupils, parents and members of staff who join us this year.
“Welcome to the new academic year, 2019-2020. It is hard to believe that we are nearly a fifth of the way through the twenty-first century and that all of our pupils were born after the Millennium. Of course I was born last century; in fact, I am so old that I was born into a rather different world, one before the Berlin wall was constructed in August 1961. Later this term, on November 9th 2019, we will mark exactly thirty years since the demolition of the wall in 1989. How quickly the world has changed since then, not least here in Poland. As a result, today the opportunities for our pupils are limitless: so many of the barriers of the past are simply no longer there. We look forward to working very closely with you to enable your sons and daughters to make the most of the opportunities available to them”.
