Medicine & Biochemistry Summer School
The one–week Medicine and Biochemistry Summer School exposes students to a contemporary range of practical areas from across these two vital areas of science.
During the week you will learn about the role isotopes play in medical treatment, how pharmaceutical products are developed and about how effective drug delivery systems ensure medicine is safely introduced to the body.
You will also be introduced to more practical aspects of the medical profession such as stitching, doctor to patient relationship, first aid, and an array of laboratory techniques used in diagnostic procedures, including gel electrophoresis, molecule immobilisation and others.
This week promises to leave you with a set of new skills by working with a combination of medical professionals and chemists who each have something unique they wish to share.
This Summer School is open to students aged 15 – 18.
