Akademeia High School is an academically-selective international school in Warsaw, offering the British curriculum of IGCSEs and A levels. We aim to develop students’ academic abilities and their artistic, athletic and leadership potential.

The majority of our students are preparing to study at the most prestigious universities in the UK and the USA, especially Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, LSE, Imperial, Ivy League universities, and acclaimed architecture, art and music schools. The school offers a substantial scholarship programme with about 20% of students being scholars.

Teachers belong to a vibrant academic community that is actively engaged in shaping the school’s ethos, informed by tradition but also inspired by new developments in education. The faculty offers academic enrichment courses to supplement IGCSE/A Level learning and students are taught in small sets allowing them to benefit from more personalised learning. We actively support the wellbeing of our teachers through a dedicated Wellbeing Team. We also aim to ensure that faculty members have the skills and knowledge to support the wellbeing of our students.

About the job

You will teach Mathematics to students aged 14-18, across a range of Mathematics courses at IGCSE and A Level.

The full-time teaching commitment is 20 hours of instruction per week with generous time allowances built into the timetable to facilitate effective preparation, marking, and report writing. Teachers are expected to either be involved in pastoral care (tutoring of a small group) or supporting student clubs and co-curricular activities. The regular school week is from Monday to Friday, with occasional school events happening on weekends (e.g. open days, school trips) that teachers may be required to attend.

About Creative and Performing Arts

Creative and Performing Arts is a thriving Department at the heart of the school’s community. We offer A Levels in Fine Art, 3D Design, Photography, Drama and Music. Students benefit from a fully equipped dark room, wet and dry art studios, a digital suite, a music room and a large auditorium. The school holds an annual Art and Design competition offering art scholarships to the most talented students in Poland. Our graduates have been offered places at the top creative and performing arts institutions, including Architecture at Cambridge, The Bartlett School of Architecture, Parsons School of Design, Design Academy Eindhoven, Guildhall Conservatoire, Berklee College of Music, and NYU Tisch. Contracts and Settlements Specialist

We are looking for a person to join our team as a Settlements & Contracts Specialist. Your main duties will include:

 

  • Managing the monthly settlements of teachers for two business lines (Akademeia High School and Akademeia Tutorial College)
  • Preparation of teaching costs budget proposals in cooperation with the Financial Controller
  • Preparation of the periodic and ad-hoc analyses of the salaries and the number of employees
  • Drafting the contracts and annexes for the new and current employees based on the existing templates
  • Managing collection of internal staff receivables
  • Managing company accounts with medical insurance provider and mobile services provider

 Professional requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Finance
  • Fluency in English, both speaking and writing
  • Very good command of MS Office, in particular, MS Excel
  • Good communication skills – ability to clearly state and present ideas
  • Attention to detail, being inquisitive, diligent and well-organized
  • Willingness to develop and improve knowledge in Finance
