(Fragment tegorocznego listu dyrektora Akademeia High School Marka Moore’a do uczniów i rodziców)
To put that into context, The Independent Schools Council each year releases the statistics for all of its member schools in the UK and these are compiled into League Tables published in The Times. With 74% A*/A, Akademeia High School would be placed in the top 25 of Independent schools in the UK. We sit alongside some UK schools that have been in existence for over 500 years, a remarkable achievement for a new school.
More importantly, these excellent results mean that the 2019 graduating pupils are all able to take up places at the most prestigious universities.
Five will be going to Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences (Corpus Christi), Architecture (Robinson), Maths (Christ’s), Human, Social and Political Science (Selwyn) and History (Murray Edwards). Additionally, we have pupils taking up places in London: at LSE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics); UCL (Biochemistry); and SOAS (Development Studies), and at Exeter (Maths) and Brighton (History of Art and Design). As well as excelling academically our pupils develop their talents and interests in creative arts. One will be taking up a place at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (with A*AA at A Level). Two are bound for the USA: one will study Drama at New York University and another will study Design at Parsons, which is ranked third in the world for art and design. Closer to home one will study Business Administration at Esade in Barcelona.
These outcomes mean that parents and pupils can be confident that an Akademeia education will lead to further education at a highly regarded institution of their choice anywhere in the world, either in the UK, the USA or in Europe. More and more European universities are offering English language degree courses so the options available to our pupils are increasing year on year.
