He worked for 12 years as a maths teacher, and afterwards as the Head of Department at 1531 IB World School in Warsaw. In 2008 he has joined Akademeia, where he gives maths classes in the following educational systems:

  • A Level (all modules for Maths and Further Maths);
  • International Baccalaureate (IB);

Paweł Chróstowski
Mathematics Teacher, Akademeia High School

During his school education, Paweł has successfully participated in mathematical competitions and Olympiads. Counting and solving puzzles always came easily and naturally to him and he loved them, therefore he could not imagine a future unrelated with the exact sciences. Since the beginning of his studies, he has been willingly and often giving private lessons in mathematics and physics. Another Paweł’s passion has always been sport. During his studies at the Warsaw University of Technology, when he matured and became independent, he decided to fulfill his dream and simultaneously started pedagogical studies at the Warsaw Academy of Physical Education, where he get, among others, teacher qualifications and the football coach license. This unusual combination of education brought him to Akademeia, which is a place where he can perfectly combine his technical and pedagogical education as a teacher of mathematics and a mentor. Currently Paweł is making a PhD. He deals with biomechanics, in particular kinematics and dynamics of a human movement. He did not resign from sport – he plays football in one of the Warsaw league teams. In school mathematics program he especially likes the topics connected with probability, particularly its realistic context and use in everyday life.

Then she completed four years of PhD studies at the Faculty of Mathematics specialising mainly in the field of Distribution Theory. As a PhD student she published articles about properties of kth record statistics and took part in many statistical conferences. Monika is also a postgraduate student of Accounting from Warsaw School of Economics. She is an experienced math teacher who has been teaching across all key stages including preparations for IGCSE and IB SL and HL Mathematics exams since 2005.
