This academic year is quickly coming to its end, but Akademeia High School is still full of events. On the 9th of June we opened the Akademia Arts Festival 2022. During the Arts Festival we celebrate the creative and performing arts at Akademeia featuring a fine art exhibition, film screening, fashion photo booth, mask creation workshop, poetry readings, open mic performances, and theatre shows. It lasts from 9th till 15th of June, with some events open not only to students, but also to parents and a wider community. The list of key events includes i.a.
- Mask Creation Workshop with Ms Iga Górniak (9th June)
- Meeting with Mr Artur Liebhart – Director of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival and screening of his favourite movie from this years festival, followed by Q&A session. (9th June)
- Students’ Art Exhibition in Galeria Tlen in Wilanów, presenting projects in mixed mediums, prepared in the past two years: ceramics, paintings, photographs, textiles (10th-12th June)
- Annual School Musical – a showcase of the AHS musical theatre talents (and Year 13 3D design students engineering skills – they have built an impressive bridge for our on-stage set, reusing the parts from last year’s musical with eco-friendliness in mind). (13th June)
- Art Indystry Panel with an open panel discussion about creative career prospects (14th June)
- International Culture Day, celebrating international community of AHS (15th June)
During the Arts Festical we also listen to Poetry Reading & Student Music Performances during lunch time every day, go to Teatr Dramatyczny for ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” play, watch a Theatre Show fully prepared by our students and participate in the premiere screening of the students’ animated movie “Lean Into the Moon”.
