Year 11 Trip to Łódź

On September 28^th, our Year 11 students, together with their  teachers from the Polish department, went on a trip to Łódź to learn more about the realm of “Promissed Land” by Władysław Reymont and its film adaptation by Andrzej Wajda. The students visited various places where the film was shot. They were also introduced to the history of the Scheiblers and the Herbsts – families of manufacturers. The students (and teachers, too!) had a chance to dress like XIX-century residents of Łódź to feel the spirit of the times. It is safe to say that they experienced a real XIX century immersion!
